Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at an early age. When she reached the age of 16, Alexandra had landed prominent roles in a variety of television dramas. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. This film received nominations for an Oscar and received critical and commercial success. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several noteworthy national and international projects. One of these is the British biographical film Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. She was also on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
