Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five, she enrolled in The Dragon School. Emma decided to become an actor when she was six. For several years she was at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach and school productions when she reached the age of ten. The casting process began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It broke all records in beginning-day and weekend-opening sales as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. Many critics have praised the film, as well as the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her exceptional performance. Emma's performance was nominated, and she earned her five awards afterward for the movie.
